As the Central Football League (CFL) has grown with several new teams this year. The Joplin Crusaders will have several new additions to their Division like the Tulsa Tornadoes, Kansas City Marshals, Rose Hill Zombies, Little Rock Duck, Arkansas Guardians, and the River Valley Reckoning to name a few. The Joplin Crusaders home field will be at MSSU's Fred G. Hughes Stadium kickoff times will vary each week for this 2014 season so pick up one of our pocket schedules at one of our various sponsors.
The Joplin Crusaders finished last year 11-0 to make them the CFL League Champions They capped their season off with a National Bowl game at Dallas Cowboys Stadium.
In their 14th season, the Joplin Crusaders are happy to be competing in the Central Football League again this year. The Joplin Crusaders have high hopes to return to the CFL Championship game again this year. Winning will mean even more this year to the Crusaders with an opportunity for another National Bowl Game. They could be playing at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis or Dallas Cowboy's AT&T Stadium again if the Crusaders season goes well.
"In our 13 years as a team, we’ve been able to grow our roster substantially and have increased our competitiveness through a steady increase of wins during past seasons,” Coach Mike Sturgis said. "We have one Tradition as a Joplin Crusader, and that is We Win Ball Games. It’s a great foundation for success as a long-term organization that encourages men’s football and community involvement on and off the field. In my 37 plus years as a Coach I have never been happier to be part of an organization as I am right now; these men give their all every weekend. They are true weekend warriors!”
The Joplin Crusaders players do not get paid to play football; they play for the love of the game. They are all residents who grew up loving football and now make it a priority in their lives, along with family, jobs, church and school.
